  • AQWA (Aquarium of Western Australia)


    Embark on an ocean adventure without getting wet these school holidays at AQWA.
    You can surround yourself with sharks, stingrays, turtles and hundreds of fish in Australia's largest walkthrough Aquarium.

    Or get up close and personal with sea life at the touch pool, and meet a deadly line up of sea creatures in DANGERzone!

    • Araluen Botanic Park


      Discovery Walks, ongoing
      Pick up a Discovery Walk sheet and map when you enter the park, and follow the trails to have some fun and get educated along the way.

    • The Swan Valley Wine Region


      The Great Valley Rally, ongoing
       is a treasure hunt designed for families with children aged 5 – 12 years. The Rally begins at the Swan Valley and Eastern Region Visitor Centre and takes around three hours to complete. Rally goers must solve cryptic clues to navigate themselves around the many attractions of the Swan Valley. At the finish line, families are presented with certificates and children receive small prizes as mementos of the experience. The Great Valley Rally map is downloadable from www.swanvalley.com.au

    • The Maze

    Phil's Frustration, opening these school holidays.
    Now there is another reason to visit the Maze these school holidays. Not only the new Danae's Dilemma, but now another new maze! Be one of the first visitors to expereince Phil's Frustration, a tricky no-right-hand-turn puzzler at The Maze. The maze is created from mianature hedges and limestone blocks and gives another reason to visit The Maze.

    So pack a picnic lunch and join in the fun of some unique games garunteed to entertain the whole family. Included in the one entry price is unlimited use of all games and attractions: 5 Mazes, mini golf, Tayla's Tangle, Disc Golf, Garden Chess, Koala's Kangaroos and Emu's plus some great picnic areas with compilemtary use of the barbecues!

    • Art Gallery of Western Australia

    NAIDOC Art Trail, 5 - 20 July
    Discover new works and surprises from the Wonderlust exhibition  in support of the NAIDOC week celebrations.  Enter into the prize draw to win some fabulous art prizes. Operating 10am - 4pm every day of the holidays and requires a gold coin to participate.

    Wonderland Family Activity Space, 5 - 20 July
    Join Karin the Kangaroo to experience this exciting new educational space, designed especially for children visiting the Wonderlust Exhibition. Open all school holiday!

    Childrens Art Activity Day Week 1, Friday 11th July
     
    Join artist Norma MacDonald from 10am-2pm and display your creative skills by using the art gallery exhibitions and inspiration for your own great artwork.

    Childrens Art Activity Day Week 2, weekdays only
    Get hands on at the Art Gallery and join in on all the fun. Take your creations home at the end of the day. From 10am-12pm come and join in for just a gold coin donation entry fee.

    • Scitech


      Stike a Chord, starting June 12
      Stike a chord discovers the science of sound through visitors creating their own digital masterpiece, jamming in an 'air band' or designing a cool new musical instrument. There is up to 22 hands on experiences to keep the kids and adults amused.

      Science A La Carte has a number of activities for kids, based around the science of music, and discovers when noise actually turns into music. Noise Annoys explores sound, noise and music and the human reactions to all three. 

      Gumby turns 200
      Children can help celebrate Gumby the Tree's 200th surprise birthday party at the Scitech Puppet Theatre. This is a great way to teach children about science through storytelling. Suitable for children 3 -7 years.

    • Perth Zoo

    Hoppenings at Perth Zoo, every day of July school holidays
    Come to Perth Zoo and enjoy the Frog Focused art and craft activities and storytelling for kids from 10am - 3pm every day these school holidays.

    Also, kids can pick up a copy of Conservation News to guide them on a journey through the Zoo and learn more about frogs and other animals that share the wetlands home!

    Frogology - Jane Davenport Photograpy
    Visitors to the Zoo these school holidays can enjoy the larger than life photo exhibition of all things Frogs by viewing Jane Davenport's photographic exhibition throughout the Zoo's Australian Wetlands.

    Wild About Animals, 16 - 18 July 2008
    Join Perth Zoo and RSPCA for a fun filled day learning about how to care for animals. Visit 'behind the scenes' and have close encounters with animals, find out from the RSPCA how to care for animals and create some objects for zoo animals and your own pets to stimulate their natural behaviours. The prorgam, suitable for children between 10 - 14, runs from 9am - 1pm  and costs $47. Bookings are essential. 

    Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise, Wednesdays and Saturdays
    Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise will also be running activities providing information about Australia's most endangered reptile at the Zoo's Homestead Barn.

    • Gravity Discovery Centre

      Family Space Adventures, Saturday 12 & Wednesday 16 July 2008
      Join in on a night of fun these school holidays where the whole family can learn from expert astronomers about the night sky, and see the universe close up as you look through the many telescopes and take a tour to Mars and other wonders in the night sky.
      Fill up with Rocket Fuel at the Stargazers Cafe, make a Galaxy Burger and Rocket Banana Split. Be there at 5pm to enjoy the cosmic dinner, before enjoying a two hour adventure starting at 6pm.       Fantastic Flying Machines, weekdays
      Have the opportunity to make two fantastic flying machines, the Hovering Helicopter and the Gravity Blimp. Children can climb to the top of the Cosmology Gallery and let their crafts go and watch as they fly all the way to the bottom. This is a one hour activity, starting at 10.30. It costs $14 and includes the activity, guided tour of the centre and the chance to climb the leaning tower of Gingin.     Sunset Coast Fun these school holidays.
    The Sunset Coast Fun Pass is a perfect way to fill in the spare days these school holidays. The pass can be purchased from any one of the participating businesses. See below for more details.

    • Western Australian Museum - Perth


      H2O Activity Zone, 5 - 20 July 2008 
      Get creative as you make your own water-saving board game to take home and show how you have the power to help save our planet! Colour your board game, make your own 3D dice and game peices and visit the Just Add Water exhibition to get some wacky facts for your game!

      Or grab a map and navigate yourself around the museum to find the hidden wetlands creature. Or visit the Discovery Centre and play at the touch-table loaded with cool water carrying artefacts. Or check out our indigenous story corner and make your own cool indigenous-style bookmark.

      Suitable for children aged 5-12, Water Warriors costs $5, the Wetlands trail costs $2 and the different activities at the Discovery Centre cost between 50c and $2.

    • Western Australian Museum - Maritime


      Swashbuckled! Portrait of a Pirate, 08 - 20 July 2008  (excluding Saturdays)
      Calling all Pirate apprentices! Come and visit William Dampier - a famous pirate, explorer and naturalist and experience first hand his antics, adventures, disasters and discoveries. Wear your best pirate outfit and join in the pirate parade for your chance to impress William Dampier himself and win a great prize.

      Get on board our Pirate Craft, create some great pirate accessories or create your very own pirate pop-up boat scene. Suitable for children aged 5 years and up, visit the museum between 11.00am and 1pm for a 30 minute performance. Swashbuckled! costs $5 for children (including museum entry) plus $1-3 for each pirate activity.

    • Western Australian Museum - Shipwreck Galleries


      Shipwrecked! 7 - 20 July 2008
      Alas, your ship has been wrecked by on Traitors Island. Al one of the lucky survivors, your only hope of escape is to follow the clues and piece together the map that will lead you to the rescue ship. Search far and wide, look out for secret messages in bottles, skeletons and more! Once rescued, build and colour your very own model ship to remind you of your adventures at sea.

      Suitable for children aged between 4 - 10 years old, cost is $3 per kit.

    • Western Australian Museum - Fremantle History


      Tucker Time Travel, 7 - 18 July (excluding weekends)
      Escape the winter blues and join in on one of the activities available at the Fremantle History Museum. In Tucker Time Travel, explore how families used to eat their meals 100 years ago, using all kitchen gadgets and serving up with some super serviette shapes. Suitable for children aged 3 - 7 years, enjoy the 1 hour workshop, commencing at 10am. The workshops cost $3.

      Good Vibrations, 7 - 18 July (excluding weekends)
      Explore the strange sounds and odd objects which create Good Vibrations. Create a cool craft to take home aswell. Suitable for children aged 8 - 16, this workshop also goes for one hour and costs $3.

    • Peel Zoo


      Head south to visit the Peel Zoo these July school holidays and recieve one FREE child entry per family. Mention that you saw this special here to recieve this fabulous discount. This discount cannot be used in conjuntion with any other offer.

      Nearer to Nature, throughout the holidays
      The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) run a very extensive program of nature based activies througout the holidays to engage children and adults in outdoor, environmental based activities to get everyone Nearer to Nature. These programs are run at a number of venues including Yanchep National Park, John Forrest National Park, Perth Hills National Parks Centre, Beeliar Regional park, as well as many other places.  Activies range in price and suitable age grounds and include activities such as bush jewellery making, Indigenous activities, bush Orienteering, exploring wetlands and foraging for animals. No matter what age or interest, there is an activity to suit everyone.
