South West 6 Day Odyssey, from $515/person

Day 1. Perth – Albany, Drive Time = 4 hours 30 minutes

Time to get started on your journey down Albany Highway, enjoy the farming landscapes as well as the highlights:

  •  Kodja Place is great place to visit to gain a greater appreciation of the Indigenous heirtgae of the area. Situated in Kojonup, Kodja Place is also part of the visitor centre
  • Upon arrival in Albany take some time out at Middleton Beach, which features a magnificent boardwalk area as well as a good selection of cafes.

Day 2. Albany

Get up nice and early to experience the full range of great attractions of Albany:

  • For a stunning view over King George Sound take a trip to Mt Clarence, right in the heart of town
  • Take a look around the Princess Royal Fortress for wartime memorabilia and gun emplacements
  • Torndirrup National Park, located just 15 minutes out of town and featuring the spectacular Gap and Natural Bridge
  • Whale World, an interesting and popular attraction, an old whaling station that has been converted into an excellent museum

Day 3. Albany – Pemberton, Drive Time = 3 hours

Enjoy the scenic drive between Albany and Pemberton making sure you stop off at the following tourist attractions:

  • Stop off at the charming coastal town of Denmark for incredible coastal scenery at Wilson’s Inlet.
  • Further on from Denmark is William Bay National Park and the clear emerald water of Green’s Pool
  • Driving toward the town Walpole is the world famous Valley Giants Tree Top Walk, a canopy walkway suspended 40 meters above the ground

Day 4. Pemberton – Margaret River, Drive Time = 2 hours

Immerse yourself totally in the Karri forest with many scenic walks around bubbling brooks, streams and rivers:

  • Try the challenge of climbing the mighty Gloucester Tree, a former fire lookout.
  • Visit other attractions in the national park such as the Cascades, Moons Crossing and Warren River
  • Try some marron or trout for lunch. Why not have a go at catching your own?

Day 5. Margaret River

Full day to explore all that the Margaret River Wine region has to offer:

  • The beautiful small town of Augusta and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.
  • Explore some of the amazing caves of the area including Jewel, Lake & Mammoth Cave
  • Visit some of the best wineries in Australia featuring some of the most delicious food you will ever eat

Day 6. Margaret River – Perth, Drive Time = 3 hours 30 minutes

Enjoy a leisurely drive to Perth, making sure that you include the following highlights on the drive back:

  • The Busselton Jetty & the Underwater Observatory, the longest timber jetty in the Southern hemisphere
  • The Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury, cruise and swim tours available (swim tours operate from November – May)
  • Drive through the coastal city of Mandurah for a snack at the award winning Miami Bakehouse
